- Do not leave appliances on, unattended especially when leaving home or going to sleep.
- Do not overload electrical outlets. They can overheat and result in electrical fires.
- Do not run extension cords under carpets and rugs. This causes them to overheat and can result in insulation failure.
- Know the electrical rating of electrical outlets.
- Do not interfere with exposed electrical components.
- For outdoor applications use outdoor rated extension cords only.
Decorations
With decorations you must be sure to:
- Keep small decorations away from small children.
- Place glass decorations a safe distance away from toddlers and where they cannot fall easily.
