Consumer Rights (Part 2)
Right to CHOOSE
It is your purchase, no one else's. Even though you may seek advice about a product you want or need, do not let others deny you your right to choose. But choose wisely and shop within your means. This means:
- Plan your purchase
- Shop around before you buy
- Do not overspend
Remember, you can always change your mind, and decide not to buy.
Right to INFORMATION
Retailers and vendors give out only enough information they believe is necessary to persuade consumers to buy. This is usually done via ads and sale signs. Such information is not enough for consumers to make informed purchase decisions. It is important that consumers get more information than what is usually given. Ask relevant questions on issues such as:
- Refund and return policies
- Full and limited warrantees
- Restocking fees
And be sure to get satisfactory answers
Remember, the power is yours!
