PRINCIPLES AND PRIORITIES OF CONSUMER POLICY:

Q. SCHOOL BOOKS

  1. Principles
    1. Given the dependence of the existing educational system on text books, measures must be taken to make text books more affordable and available to consumers.
  2. Priorities
    1. To standardize school text books;
    2. To introduce a system of school book rental throughout the country;
    3. To fix a minimum period of at least three (3) years for a book to be used as a text book to allow such books to be reused;
    4. To publish in the daily newspapers before July/August of each year, the scheduled list of prices for school books as determined by the current 15% on the publisher's price.
