PRINCIPLES AND PRIORITIES OF CONSUMER POLICY:
K. RESEARCH ON CONSUMER MATTERS
- Principles
- An integrated consumer policy and action on consumer matters should be influenced by reliable research on such matters including research on consumer choice behaviour and attitudes and product testing.
- Priorities
- To ensure performance testing of products to ascertain their merchantability, reliability and safety;
- To undertake comparative testing of products and publish the results of such testing;
- To facilitate and implement research to determine consumer choice, behaviour and attitudes in order to provide information for an integrated policy on consumer information and education.
